Lost hamsterz? (from my old site)
ohhh….. Lost hamster is a huge problem with little hammies. Hamsters are escape artists they can find there way out of places in a snap! 
First off if you have a top at the hasmter cage and think how the heck is he ganna get up there? and leave it open the hamster will use this little teckneke called climbing. they will spend most of there time knawing on bars and climbing up them
And if you leave it open for a short minute or two they could have already scampered off!
How to prevent lost hamsters:when you leave the hasmters cage double check to make sure its nice and tight especaily if your leaving for a long time. 
If there are any places it can go like up to a peting zone or something make sure those are tight to. If the cage has been opened before from the bars, then its ok make sure its tight but if this has happened before in the past ALOT then you should buy a tank or plastic cage. A fish tank is good and something to put over it! To try ot prevent your hamsters from chewing on the bars you can cover them up with something dafe for hasmters to chew such as cardboard. Another option is to get chewables for your hamster like little toys for gnawing. If this method doesnt work try puting apples, lessuce, or other fruits around it, the best option is to put peanut butter on a gnawing toy to presuid or convince the hamster to come and chew on the toys instead of the bars. Bars can possibly be bad for the hamsters teeth so make sure to check his/her teeth and gums to make sure her mouth is healthy. Most hamsters can climb the bars up all the way to the top and even hang from one hand or paw upsidedown for a good amount of time conpaired to their size and how much a human could climb the bars and do so. Also to make sure a hasmter doesnt escape close your door and put something under the door so the hamster doesnt squeeze through the crack underneath the door such as a towle or clothing. This way even if the hamster gets out the hamster wont beable to leave a room making it a lot easier to find the hasmter even without a ball. If you can cover the heater or other spaces to please do it so if the hamster escapes and is traped in the room the hamster may eventuly find the space and go through, hamsters have small and fragule bones which means they can brake easily but having such small bones can give hamsters the ability to squeeze through spaces as small as one inch or two. Even fi you think I hamster cant get through somewere always be aware that hasmters are escape artists so never assume a hamster cant do something. Remember if its head can fit through its whole body can.
hamster already escaped: So ussaily you read this part first and the top part second becuase this page is currently called Lost hamster which means the hamste ris lost help me! Well come down, one thing for sure if a hamster is gone you must remember these three simple things:
1: Never give up
2: never loose hope
3:he comes when your elast expecting
remember these steps most likly three will work, now its not easy since it says right infront of your fave never give up and stay hopeful!? Well this happenes ALOT to everyone they always think its hopeless and the next place you look he will be there running minding his own busness and looks at you all go lucky and happy. I nkow what your thinking, that could never happen not ever well truth be told I seen lots of poeple loose there hamsters loose hope and he appears right infront of your face! Its just ffreeky how they do it. Maybe they sense you being sad and come to confort you, or maybe its just fait. Infact it happened to me, My buckaroo was lost for the first time in buckaroo loosing history and I was on the floor crying my guts out and then I looked up and he was RIGHT THERE walking across passing my bed and he stopped stood on two feet and looked at me without a care in the world. It happens and you hug him tight till his eyes pop out…jk But you will hug him and be soo happy you will forget to telle veryone in the house he is ok and thye will be still loking at him wile you play with him lolz. Well here just remember he will show and VERY VERY few hamsters dont be found and most died form pipes and stuff very few are lost from not returning to there loving owners. So do you know which room? My guess is probebly not? But you mgiht if you dont know place three or a tiny pile of seeds (or his faverite food) in the middle of the floor or were you think he could be in each room, After a week or so see if any of the food is eaten each day if a peice is eaten thats were he is! (to make this work close all the doors! becuase he could of eaten a peice but gotten out fo the room and into another room and you would be stuck trying to get a invisible hammie out of a emty room) lolz. When this happenes over a week if there is no sign over a week put more food over the corners and in dark places and this time paint peanut butter over the food! or a flesh slice of apple. When you find the room or in the mean time put a peice of foil or sometihng that crinkles when you touch it over the food. this way when the hammie comes tog it, you might hear the tinfoil or other crinkly papper do a shaddering noice! ALso over some other food traps put hamster cleaning supplies ove rit so when the hamster steps on it there will be foot prints! I heard on other sites to put like cornstarch or soemthing over it (dont do it!) I tried it with my hasmter and it gets ALL OVER there fur coat and my hamster tried eating it and it mgiht get him sick I just dont know but I don wanna risk it, wile the cleaning stuff is on it doesnt spread and it cleans the hamster! I will try ot find a picutre…
This is pretty much the best I could do… Well find something in a pet store that says cleans your hamster, or something that ownt hurt you rhamster when he eats or gets on his/her fur. Goodluck!
Another trap is the best trap!! Simpy leave the cage open on the ground in the room the hamster is in and the hamster mgiht climb in, thats were his potty, food, water and home is he could be home sick, but if he thinks he found a better home he could leave his cage. If the door of the cage is at the top tip the cage over and put something like books up so he can cimb onto the dorway form the cage, if the cage isnt glass or plastic and the bedding will fall out put cardboard onthe ground so the bedding will be on the cardboard and when you pick it up try to pick up the cardboard with it and all the bedding will fall back in the cage! This one mostly will work so choose your best spot for the your hammie will most likly be in. one of the most reconmended trap is to do the bucket mathod. here is the intructions:
1: Get a bucket small enough not to hurt the hasmter but big enough to make sure the hasmter cant escape.
2:place a tuny towle or blanket at the bottom of the bucket so the hamster wont get hurt falling.
3: Put lots of seads, hasmters faverite foods, and a peanut butter cracker at the bottom of the bucket This will be the bait.
4: stack up books like stairs up to the cage or a wooden plank upto the bucket so the hamster can easily climb up and fall in the bucket.
5: Put a chewing toy on the side of the bucket or take it there so the hamster could attemt to jump and get it but fall in the bucket.
6: line up litle peices of sunflower seeds or its faverite food lined ont he rim of the bucket so the hamster could also attemt to get the seeds.
7: Put a line of seeds and a peanut butter covered cracker on the books or wooden ramp so the hasmter can smell the peanut butters scent.
8: Tape or balance seds up on the way to the trap to convince the hasmter to go up the ramp or books.
9: Put the cage near the hamsters most likly hiding spot.
10: wait for a couple ngihts and each day see if you cought your buddy.
TIP: Put ltos of food in the bucket so it is even more convinsing.
I hope this works! this is what my friend did:
We put the cage top of a fish tank up and th bucket method with a piece of the carpet for him to get in and fall ni the bucket along with the other side of the buckets rim lined up with five peices of his faverite food (corn) and a whole much of corn in the bucket with a hand full of cat food wich the hamster has been living off of. The cat is harmless so he stays in the basement. Remember any animal that could hurt your hammie must be removed form the room till further notice. Then we put it were we think he is with the door up against the cage and bucket mathod trap wich he can climb up to either trap, the hamster loves to climb up the cage door! so we put it up and the door was opened a TINY bit it had to be but we put a plastic trap at the bottom! A couple corn peices along the way and a washrag at the bottom so the hasmter doesnt get hurt. I dont know if he got in it yet today but im ganna go see soon
ok thats all the traps I know, and I KNOW you probebly seen all these traps everywere so there probebly no use, looking for another trap? So I thoguht of one cardboard, the chewing peice that will brainwahs your hamster into chewing, it not only has your hasmter brainwashed to chewing in one place giving you time to capture him but it signals your etention form him chewing the cardboard endlessly trying to make it into little shivled up peices.
hehe… Well I hope you injoyed the finding your hasmter page with a secret NEW finding trap. Remember hamsters are nockturnal, THey will be most likly were you will be at night, so have a little sleep over at a little camping site and stay up all night downw ere oyu think he is (you up) lolz. TIP: On your hamsters little journy aroudn the house in eighty hours he mgiht have put bad things in his cheeks put your hasmte ron his back to make him spit it out, and check your hamsters teeth and gums for any breakings in his teeth. GOODLUCK FINDING YOU HASMTER!

ok everybody, I have no idea if I already said this before but here are some ideas that you most likly wont see anywere else ( atleast I havnt~made them up) I made these up myself:
1# get a small bucket and poke three-four tiny but still a little big air holes in the sides.
2# lay it on side but still standing up, put a block to hold it up.
3# tie a string around the block and tie a sunflower seed on the other end of the string
4# place the sunflower side inside the bucket.
5# put extra hamster toys and water inside
6# when the hamster sees the food he/she will want to get it, he/she will try to take the sunflower seed and pull trigguring the trap! the tugging will make the block fall cuasing the bucket to fall over the hamster. the hamster will be conferable a little with the dark bucket and plenty of food and water.
ANOTHER MADE UP TRAP: the treat specail! and the trpa set!
miterials:
1:Apple slices
2:peanut butter
3:cheese
4: lettuce (not that much!)
5: two buttle caps
6: the solfest thing in the house. (make sure it cant hurt your hamster!)
7: darkness (blankets over chairs to generate shadows and stuff)
8: little light for him/her to see food
9:jar
10: string and tape
this one looks a little harder. For this trap you need to do two things and conbine them. birst take two apple slices and put them on something your hamster would like to chew on like carpet or a toy. Then get a little knife and a blanket of peanut butter on top of the apple slices and stick the apple slices together but reveal alot of beanut butter that the hamsters cant resist! Now get the lettuce and make sure theres not that much because lettuse can give diarria if your hamster eats to much, put some cheese in the lettuce and rap it up, then put beanut butter on it and stick it on the apple slices. Now with a bottle cap, fill it up with water and place it next to the treat. put the other bottle cap and feel it up and put it near the trap so the hamster will get a drink out, cover the bottle cap with some peanut butter (only a little bit so the hamster will go in its fun house) and let it sit so the hamster will smell it. Then, place the solfest thing you can find so the hamster will be cozy and place it in your spot were you think your hamster will most likly be in (use the hamster seed trap above) and on the other half put reguler solf bedding for her/him to sleep in. Now were almost done, get a blanket and something like a chair and put thre banket over the chairs that sit around the hamster funhouse, tape the blankets to the floor so the hasmter wont get out (you can also put heavy things over the edges) now use another bottle cap and screw it on barly so if you touch it, it will fall. Now put it in the fun house with air holes and wait. Tie the string to the opening blanket of the trap, put the string around a bar and tie in to the bottle. (put all the food and stuff in the bottle) and wait! This will get your hamster to get captured. it doesnt look simple and its a little confusing but here is whats ganna happen: The hamster will find the water and beanut butter and eat & drink the food and water. It will want more and finding darkness it will come in, smelling the bottle and the food inside in will be despirit to get inside and get the lid open, it will climb inside causing the string not being sble to handle the wait and it will either brake making the opening sealed or the string will be pulled and the bottle will be pulled over to the pole it was tied to. Its a little confusing and im not sure it will work, I made it up as I went on and I havnt tried it. So you can! I hope it workes and dont conplain if it doesnt I wrote it as I went on and I really got stumped on some parts so ya! if it doesnt work you can try the previos one. ok! more idea’s! So, I dont really like taking risk’s and chances. This might require some money and work but it can possibly save your hamsterslife. Slimly maybe but it could. Say your hamster has escaped and might be on the loose for ever. If my friend had done this she would of saved the hamster’s life. So, the real trick is to block all entereces of escape. Like my hamster’s. With buckaroo I have a small minature cage that is used to take buckaroo around somewere without having to hold him. If the door falls open it hits the enterence to the mini cage. If buckaroo goes out to explore he wont make it. He could go off the sides. But otherwise he is safe. Coureosity will looer him near the cage. Seeign the treats and food below (he might not be able to see them because there on the far other side) He will just in. If he tries to grab the edge it will be to much of a chance and he will slide down.There is some soft bedding so he doesnt get hurt or anything wile my absance. This is a good trap. Also Here is a trap simuler to the most common heard bucket trap! Here is how it work
1#Crease a tube of toilet paper till it makes a floor so the hamster can walk in (they love tubes)
2# Place a small treat on the end of it something that is tempting for a hamster to smell. Like an apple smeared with peanut butter!
3# Set the Tube down for a wile. Go near a table or get a chair and put a bucket over edge of the chair.Make sure the bucket is on the floor right below the chair so it can drop in.
4# Get a ramp like cardboard, books, tubes that are long enough would probebly work and/or something with lots of holes they like climbing.
5# Set the tube with the treat on the very end that hoveres over the edge to the bucket on the chair. Make sure the bucket has a soft landing like a towel.
6#Make it so it is really dark and quit.
7# IF possible add a camra were you can see the whole trap at work.
8# Add things around the edges of the chair so if the hamster wants to go in the side he will also get cought and if possible set ramps up on the sides of those to.
9# set a pile of hazle nuts and sunflower seeds right next to the ramp and peanut butter bits on the way up.
10# Turn off all the lights and wait.
Tomarrow your lil’ hammie should be in the bucket in approximetly one hour.
NOTE: One hour for mice but not sure for hamster’s.
